Food quality and safety are the primary concerns of consumers today. The growing environmental and food safety concerns have created a significant demand for yield from green and sustainable cultivation methods. Modern farming methods often lead to biodiversity loss and monoculture, which are huge factors in the environment’s decline. Pesticides and chemical usage are rampant in agriculture, causing water and soil contamination.

Considering this, we are prioritising organic farming, which is one of the most effective ways to not only provide food security and improve farmers’ livelihoods but also eliminate the use of harmful chemicals. An organic agricultural system promotes and enhances the health of the agro ecosystem, including biodiversity, biological cycles, and soil biological activities. It helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions, encourages soil & water conservation, and improves crop yields.

POTASHIELD Organic Liquid Nutrients

Recently the Government of India has been making relentless efforts to promote organic and natural farming. In this regard our company GHK Organics Private Limited, located at Ankleshwar and we have done Memorandum of Understanding for transfer of technology with Navsari Agricultural University, Navsari for the production of an international patented organic liquid nutrients which is made up from banana pseudostem sap.

These organic liquid nutrients are banana pseudostem sap obtained as a byproduct during extraction of fiber from banana pseudostem. The banana pseudostem sap is collected by squeezing scutcher waste either manually or by press obtained during the process of fiber extraction. The sap obtained is to be filtered for removing the suspended material. Mixing of different organic inputs and sap has to be done in sequential manner. The whole mixture is then filled in bio-digester and incubated under anaerobic condition. The mixture is to be stirred periodically. After specified period the supernatant is to be collected, filtered and stored in air tight container (Desai et al., 2016). Presently there are three products available which developed through this method at Navsari Agricultural University.

1. “POTASHIELD” organic liquid nutrients

It is rich in nutrients such as nitrogen, phosphorus, potash, and also micro and secondary elements that can increase crop production and quality. Apart from this, it also contains good amount of natural growth enhancers. Navsari Agricultural University along with all agricultural universities of the state have also recommended this organic liquid element for farmers in various crops.

2.“POTASHIELD Plus” (Organic Pesticide) organic liquid nutrients

“ POTASHIELD”  Plus organic liquid nutrient is a new generation crop protector which is used as organic pesticide. It is an upgraded product of Navsari Agricultural University similar to Novel organic liquid nutrient but it has additional insecticidal properties which is due to incorporation of different botanicals in formulation.

3. “POTASHIELD Prime” ( Organic Fungicide) organic liquid nutrients

It is a new generation crop protector which is used as organic fungicide. It is an upgraded product of GHK Organics Private Limited similar to POTASHIELD organic liquid nutrient but it has additional fungicidal properties which is due to incorporation of different botanicals in formulation.
